Kids grow up too fast. They grow up fast enough without us encouraging it.
A thread on UKS today highlighted a Telly programme - beauty queen at 11... which is a fly on the wall docu thing looking into the US beauty pageant crap. Sounds sad. Bad even, if the posters are to be believed. OK, I do understand about little girls wanting to dress up and show off - God knows, I've had three daughters so I think I'm an authority there... but to be pushing them... and making them feel responsible and inadequate if an agency doesn't take them on... sounds like a recipe for BIG trouble later on if you ask me. Where's the shaking head blinkie when you need it eh? They're kids FFs! Please let them BE kids, while they can.
My own kid is growing up, however...
And TOO blummin fast. But at least he's still a kid, you know? Today he went shopping with his mates on the bus to the nearest BIG town. had to happen and he was fine... had a great day... but it's another rite of passage passed... and I feel that... that... steady loosening of the old apron strings..... sigh.... it's hard.
Then tonight, off to a gig in town like a real grown up boy, and staying over at his mates afterwards.... I know he'll be fine.... but. I'm just, y'know... saying.
Another one growing too fast - (and her foot's healing beautifully evidently...) is this lil miss!
Layout for mojoholder - my absolute fave DT ... and it's called:
'Whatever floats your boat, baby!'
The LO we scraplifted by Stephanie Howell can be seen on the mojo blog along with the rest of the girl's gorgeous interpretations. Go on... you know you want to...
Anyway, enough from me...
Happy weekend folks - and thanks for dropping by!
