Another weekend gone....Sheesh... I just hate how fast our days off together fly by. This time last week, I was still out in the Canarian sunshine with my girls, but already it's becoming a distant memory... luckily we still have our Ibizan holiday to look forward to :-) (not that we're very excited, you understand... lol)

Yesterday we drove to a pretty little village outside St Neots for Carl's Dad's wedding. It was a very small quiet affair, just close family celebrating at home, but we had a lovely time, and it was nice to catch up with everyone on that side as we spend more time with my half of the fam ordinarily. The best part tho, was seeing Tim and Ally looking so happy, especially after their recent worries with Tim's health.

Huge congrats to both of them for having just the kind of wedding they wanted, and here's to many fun filled years together!!

The happy couple

Carlo and his sister

And Dottie the dog, dressed up for the occasion....

I haven't had a lot of time for scrapping lately, but managed this layout for a post on It's A Creative World last week

And also this one, for MOJOHOLDER

Hope you all have a great week!

love from me.

Not again..

Whenever I decide I'm going to keep my blog updated, stuff happens... and I can't.

I can't believe it's been almost two weeks since I posted on here, but a lot's happened in between. A post or two back I hinted that I had some news, but it was still hush hush, so couldn't share. To be honest, that was family news, rather than anything a stray scrapbooker might find interesting, but at the time I couldn't really write about it - though I was bursting to.

The news was that my middle dd, who has no children yet, was finally expecting, and very very excited about it too. Her and Dan had discussed names, she'd had scans, and had booked flights home to shop shop shop... in pink or blue, but until they felt safe, they didn't want anyone to say anything - hence the need for me to keep quiet for just a bit longer.

Very sadly, things did not work out for them, and my girlie lost her baby last week. It's just so sad, and seems unbelievably unfair, as they'd waited a long time for this and the whole family felt for them because they'd only just told everyone....on Hayley's birthday... and within days, all their dreams had been dashed.

Jazz did an amazing job under incredibly difficult circumstances of looking after her big sister - and at a time when she has problems enough of her own, but the girls have a knight in shining armour in the guise of my son in law Erk, who secretly arranged for me to fly out to the island and surprise them last week. I'll never forget their faces when they saw me standing in front of them, and I'll never be able to thank Erk enough for making it happen.

We had a few tears, of course, but we had some laughs too, lots of family time in the sunshine, long walks by the sea and nice meals, and I left the girls with smiles on their faces on Monday night. I feel a whole lot better knowing they are ok and seem to be feeling more positive and calm now. I also managed to get plenty of scrapping material on my camera ;-) ( and a light tan..!) so I'll share a few pics now before I upload everything to snapfish for processing.

Rubes with his new DUDE...

And having a swim in auntie hayley's pool

Silly baby Jenna making everyone laugh, as usual :-)

Her boat doubles as a paddling pool

and she loves it!

No - i haven't had my hair cut! The girls made me tie it up... and I ended up burning my back and shoulders... doh!

Smiley Jenna in the sun with her Mummy

Er... how much 'tude??

Man, those chillies were HOT! (and obviously very scarey...)

No chillies for Minnie, but she enjoyed the barbie all the same :-)

How could there be long faces with this one around...

Hayley trying a smile on for size....

Me and the boy

Frozen strawberry daquiris @ our favourite lunch spot - the San Miguel bar in the Old Town.

And the man who can... my son in law Erkin.. what a love he really is.

Now, let's see if I can keep up with this thing.....

Huge thanks to everyone who sent me lovely messages over the last few days... Means the world, I promise.

Hi ho Hi ho

Got to go to work today...
ME!! On a Saturday!!

It's our fete, so as the activity coordinator it sort of falls under my jurisdiction... Oh Joy.

I'll be there all day, until gone six.. but at least the sun's shining. Last year was a wash out.

All the same, I hate working weekends... bum bum bum.

Did this LO yesterday for mojoholder

It's a lift of Candy's work. We decided for a bit of fun to lift someone else from the design team... there's some fab stuff up there, and next week we'll be back with new DT members, and another wonderful international designer to lift.

which way round is it then...?

You know, they say Life imitates Art... or umm... should that be the other way round...?
I don't really know, :-D but I do sometimes think that the busier my life gets... the busier my layouts become! :-)

Prime example below:

(Whoops! Very wonky scan there!)

I just finished this for the Colour Combo challenge - I did my first one of these last week... and now I'm hooked. I blame Suzanne...

Anyways, another great challenge girls - so thanks for the inspiration :-)

Other news is there have been a few changes at
Mojoholder. One thing is we invited Paula Sealy onto the team along with another very talented lady called Leah from the USA - and both accepted. We are all really stoked to be working with these girls and can't wait to see what they come up with for our Friday night scraplifts :-) In addition, after an absence where life overtook her, Nickibee returns to MOJO so the place should be rockin in the next couple of weeks when the usual team are joined by the new girls - make sure you check us out here!

Liam Lynch: United States of Whatever

THIS made me laugh out loud today...!! :-D

Love his nerdy faces and silly silly dance.... Hanks Vin for sharing with me :-)

[not] Guilty Pleasures....

Got a layout today which was made for Scrapdragons challenge blog. We had to pick a layout from one of our teamies and scraplift it - not so hard, eh? Personally, I scraplift a layout every week for mojoholder, so it was home from home for me!! lol!

Anyway, I lifted a fab LO by my teamie Deanna, and you can see all the girls interpretations of their lift's on the blog. Don't forget we give prizes to the winners too, so get over there and participate!

Oh, and I must share this!

These two...

...visit the place I work every Spring. They come here, entertain us all for a few weeks and then disappear to make a nest in the Lavender bed. They always lay eggs... which sadly are usually taken by some rotten old fox... Last year they laid loads, and lost every one :-( But this year... this year, they have somehow managed to fool old Foxy Loxy.. and yesterday we discovered 12... Yep, 12! Beautiful baby ducklings! Unbelievably, I didn't have my camera with me! Grr!

I'm taking two in today... just in case I get the chance for a picture :-) yesterday she brought them all out onto the grass...and with luck, she will again today.... ahhhh....

I'm just praying they survived the night and no predator has got there to disturb that sweet lil (large!) family. So! Baby pics tomorrow, God willing.

It's for the birds...

Since the old cat's been gone, it's amazing how many birdies have braved our garden again. Henry was an awesome predator, and for years I've never dared to encourage feathered friends with food because entering our garden was dicing with certain death - he really was quite wild in that way. More than once, I've seen him take a bird out of the air right in front of my face... and once he'd caught something, nothing would make him give up his prey. I've wept and wailed at him, chased him and chastised him, but Carlo has always been philosophical about it.... "he's a cat" he'd say... "it's his nature..." And yeah I guess it was.
But anyway, now he's gone the birds have come back. And so we set up a bird table and bird bath, and I've really enjoyed watching the dickies flocking round for food. Carlos calls me and tells me I have customers waiting, and sure enough they're all out there hanging around for treats!

Of course, the sodding squirrels are a terrible nuisance round here, and steal as much of the food as they can but I know there's nothing I can do about it, so I'm getting resigned. I still hate them with a passion, but I realise they're not going anywhere, anytime soon... so I'll just have to learn to ignore them as best I can.

But take a look at that feeder - all busted up by squirrels trying to get in to steal the fat ball...!! Grr!

I know this picture's terrible and my one regret is that I haven't managed to get a decent picture of any bird yet, but one of my mates has convinced me to get my old fuji S5500 out of the wardrobe, and give it another go. It's got a fab zoom on it, so if I can just learn to sit very still... and have some patience, I might get some good snaps yet! :-)
